Boy, do I miss the days of leisurely primping...these days I can't shape my eyebrows without solving at least three world-ending dilemmas and rushing to the sound of a whiney baby. I have found a few tricks to taking care of myself while taking care of everyone else. Baths are essential. I make sure I get a bath at least every other day (yes, I shower in between). I put the baby in his seat in the bathroom and give him a few toys. My favorite bath gels and conditioners are essential. Often I can take as long as I need. OK, I have to sing Old Mac Donald a few hundred times but hey, you do what you gotta do!
My daughter and I have a new favorite place to shop! E.L.F. cosmetics...everything is $1! I do buy some expensive makeups but this company is great for lip gloss and make-up brushes (I love their eyeliners too). My daughter loves it because she can buy a whole purse full of make-up for $15. I'm not thrilled with their foundations or cover-up but their blush and eyeshadows are decent. If you are looking for a great price on make up this is the place to visit:
1. Take a nap!
2. Take a long bubble bath (see above)...
3. Play hide and seek with your kids. When it's your turn to hide find a spot where they'll never find you and read a magazine. When it's your turn to look for them, paint your nails.
4. Leave the kids with your husband and run out to the store for milk- during rush hour(don't forget to bring your favorite cd's).
5. Suggest that your kids play house while you watch Dr. Phil. Remind "the mommy" or "the daddy" that it is their responsibility as parents to watch the baby carefully and change the baby's diapers. Leave the door open so you can hear if the baby cries. Ok, just kidding...kinda.
